Baklava! You love it, but can't find it anywhere? Make it yourself! Your tasters will think you have baking superpowers! Simple ingredients that synergize ino a cherished Christmas treat. Or anytime you feel like something a little special.
This is a recipe with pictures that I have been making since mid 1980's because I loved the stuff and couldn't find it anywhere that was as good as the baklava I would get at a little Mom and Pop Greek eatery in Bellingham, WA in the early 1980's. When we moved back to the midwest, I tried to locate some good baklava and ended up learning to make it myself. This recipe is the final version after all the tweaks over the years to make it scrumptious. It's a simple recipe, not hard to accomplish and includes methods I have developed for using fillo dough that anybody can use. It's not hard to make, easier than many cookie recipes. Enjoy!
NOTE: THE IS THE RECIPE ONLY, in PDF format. Nothing edible....well, you could eat the paper, I guess, but I recommend you make the baklava and eat that.
PDF format means you get the file to view or print it yourself.
Ingredients: Phyllo dough, walnuts, a little sugar, cinnamon, butter, honey, lemon (the good stuff you squeeze from a lemon). You can substitute pistaschios for the walnuts, but pistachios are harder to chop.
You can print as many copies as you can personally use, but please don't share, give away, or email the recipe. Please direct interested parties here so that they can buy their own copy. Thanks!
